The webinar count on the participation of two outstanding professionals, Paola Serrano, Director of Aviation and Transports at MAPFRE Global Risks, and Peña Solano, Manager of Management Control, Budgets and Insurance at Hispasat, who analyzed the vertiginous growth of the satellite industry and the role of insurance in its development.

The event, moderated by Mercedes Sanz, director of the Insurance and Social Security area of Fundación MAPFRE, stand out for the quality and the deep knowledge of both managers, according to the feedback of the followers, who also commented how instructive was the debate.

Paola Serrano highlighted the essential role played by the satellite in our daily life (connection to Internet, TV, GPS, etc.), so as for the provision of geographic data and information on meteorological events.

For her part, Peña underlined the relevance of the risk management in a company like Hispasat, its significance in the space sector in Spain and Latin America, and the indispensable role of the satellites in our new digital environment.

Both speakers underlined the vertiginous evolution of the activity linked to satellites and their tendency to continue growing in the coming decades through the manufacture of smaller size units, and the realization of multiple launches, more economical.
