The insurer operates in various segments, including energy, infrastructure, aeronautics, marine hulls, and transportation risks. Thematic panels will feature MAPFRE’s CEO in Brazil and aviation superintendent. Our colleagues Óscar Estrada and Diego Benítez Martins will also be attending to represent MAPFRE Global Risks.

São Paulo, August 8, 2025 – MAPFRE, a global insurance and financial services company, is participating for another year in Expo ABGR 2025, the leading event focused on corporate risk management in Brazil, which will take place on August 12 and 13 at the WTC Events Center in São Paulo. In addition to participating in the debates and panel discussions, the company will have its own booth at the event, providing a platform for market engagement and the presentation of insurance solutions for large risks.

The event is promoted by the Brazilian Risk Management Association (ABGR) and brings together professionals from the insurance market, specialized brokers, reinsurers, consultancies, law firms, technology companies and compliance specialists from large companies.

The program’s opening will feature Felipe Nascimento, CEO of MAPFRE in Brazil, who will participate in the inaugural panel on the insurance legal framework. The debate will address ways to modernize the sector’s regulatory environment, focusing on key industry issues such as competitiveness, innovation, and legal certainty.

During the two-day event, MAPFRE’s booth will showcase a variety of solutions focused on highly complex corporate risks, offering customized solutions for sectors such as Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Aerospace. The space will also serve as a meeting point for clients and brokers, reinforcing the company’s close ties to its key business partners. Representing MAPFRE Global Risks will be our colleagues Óscar Estrada and Diego Benitez Martins, Deputy Director of Engineering and Property Underwriter, respectively.

“Expo ABGR is a strategic opportunity to exchange knowledge with the market and deepen relationships with those who lead risk management within companies. It’s an environment where we can better understand our clients’ challenges and present, in a consultative manner, solutions that can make a difference in critical moments,” says Mauro Caetano, general director of companies at MAPFRE Brazil.

In the technical program, MAPFRE’s Superintendent of Aviation in Brazil, Hull, and Transportation Insurance, Carlos Eduardo Polizio, will participate in the panel “Airline Sector: Challenges and Strategies for Operational Safety and Efficiency.” The discussion will address the main risks involved in air operations and the measures adopted by insurers and operators to mitigate financial and operational impacts.

“Aviation is a sector that demands constant attention, with strict safety standards and very specific technical requirements. In this context, insurance acts as an essential tool to ensure continuity and stability for all stakeholders in the chain,” Polizio emphasizes.

In 2024, Expo ABGR brought together more than 4,000 participants, approximately 500 companies, and 80 speakers. This year’s edition is expected to see increased registration numbers and even greater representation from the various links in the corporate insurance ecosystem.
